  • [Temp-General] Pics of my Tank Setup

Ok here is a couple pics of my tank setup for my baby boa ... the tank is temporary maybe 6 months or so then I will be looking into a boaphile. I have cyprus mulch as my substrate, a 75watt heat bulb for basking, a UTH W/thermostat set around 93, the cool whip container is my humidity box with some moss in there .I tried to provide as much hide for it because its kind of small to be in the 40 gallon breeder. So tell me what you think or any suggestions ! Appreciate it

Maybe its just me but that doesnt look like a 40 breeder? Seems a little short on length...but it could just be the angle too.

Looks like a nice little tank , I've had many Boas in similar setups

I've moved away from them and still have two large tanks in use (a 4 footer & a 6 footer)

How's the temp on the cool side?

A little tip that i found very helpful when trying to help with the humidity on a setup like that was...i would put a water bowl under the heat lamp as well...this would help boost the humitdy levels big time! ...other than that...looks cool...i USED to have some like that TILL i ended up with so many...NOW it's HARD to keep up with all the ones i have if i had them all like that

If you don't mind hearing a little advice from a fellow glass user I've got a couple pieces. For starters if you can try and find a way to raise the light so that it is hanging a few inches above instead of resting on the screen it will help with humidity. The other thing I have done recently was to use a window insulating kit to cover most of my screen top. It installs very easily and to me looks better than foil, cardboard etc.. I found some kits at the dollar store so you can find em really cheap. You just lay some tape (included with the kit) around the frame of the screen and then tape down the window film. Use a hair dryer to shrink the film to the screen and trim off the excess.

              Mat.

U can go to Lowes or Home depo. and have them cut a sheet of plexiglass to fit in the top of the tank. U cant even see it but it helps good with humidity and heating. instead of the tinfoil.
