  • [Rabbits] Best place to buy Frozen Rabbits?

    Hi,

Where do you guys buy your rabbits? Is rodentpro.com any good? I have no interest in breeding them so I'm looking for a good place to buy them. I've found several, but, would prefer a recommendation if possible.

I have bought some 2-2.5lb rabbits from Rodent Pro and i can tell you that they come nice and clean and my big girl LOVED them! Good price on them too!

      Hi,

Thanks. I have been bought them from the pet store in the past and it's pricey and I do not like to kill them. I have some floppy ears as pets so its really not my thing to have to prekill it and want to wash my hands of that deed.

Do you mind telling me the size of the one eating the 2-2.5s? I only have one boa who can eat rabbits and it's around 8 - 8 1/2 long. I was thinking the mediums (2-3pounds it says) might be good but I don't want them to be too big or too small. I just know it can eat the floppy eared ones I see at the pet store all the time, though it did take a lot of time and work to get it down so I think those are a bit too big.

Depending on weight, an 8ft+ boa should be able to take a med rabbit. I've been using rodent pro for years and always been 100% satisfied with my rats/rabbits.

          Hi,

I'm not 100% sure on the weight but it's pretty heavy. I got him about 2 years ago from a friend of my sisters who just couldn't handle him anymore. Feels like 100 pounds but it's probably atleast 30-40, or I'm veryyyy weak.

I think mediums also sound good. Last question -- how often are you feeding your boas rabbits? I don't want to buy too many where they might freezer burn. The last time this snake ate a floppy it didn't eat for a long time but on just super jumbo rats it will eat non stopped.

I fed a rabbit about every 3 weeks. They're pretty high in nutrition so you shouldn't need to feed a med rabbit any more often than that (unless you're feeding a retic).
