This isn't an issue, more of a concern really. As you all know I just got a bumblebee bp as a present for my girlfriend. I have only had it for 2 days. I know the rule, I should have waited 4-5 to try and feed, but I tried today anyway just because all my snakes eat on the same day. I have always had it this way with all 8 of them. It refused, needless to say, but should I even be concerned? I have skipped this rule before without any problems. Just wondering what some of your opinions are. Thanks

Re: refusal
I would say to wait at least a week to feed it(at Least)
Was the Breeder feeding it frozen thawed or live or stunned or fresh kill...find out if he was feeding him rats or mice...What were you feeding F/T or live
I dont know if you have other ball pythons...but "some" are picky eaters...be ready to go through the process of getting it to eat frozen thawed...
in the mean time weigh him and give him at least a week of alone time...i know its tempting but it helps out allot in the long run....if he still does not eat then take it to the next step

Re: refusal
I give my new snakes 7-10 days to calm down and settle in before handling or feeding.
My boas all eat on the same day (Thursday), but when I get a new snake it sits on the bench its fist Thursday here. They get fed on the following Thursday with everyone else. By that time they have usually gone 2+ weeks without a meal (since they usually ate several days before being shipped) and are pretty eager to eat.

Re: refusal
How old is your new royal?
As already mentioned Royals are renowned for being very fussy eaters. Everyday one the forum I use over here in the UK there is a "help with royal" thread started. As you know yourself you should have left him/her for a while first, but hey its done now lol.
He'll be fine in a week or so just leave him be. Go in too spot clean or change water then place his meal just outside his hide freshly brained and warmed and leave over night see if he has eaten it by the morning ( as royals are mostly nocturnal it should trigger his scavenging response) if it has gone, then bonus if not leave again for a few more days and try again. He may not strike feed at first but I'm sure he will once he has established eating he should start getting into the "strike" mode.
