I think this is a good example of why live feeding should only be an option if all others are completely exhausted.

I have never fed live and this is why. You hear too many stories like this because people are irresponsible and can't take the time to switch the snake to f/t.

My adult boa will only eat if I kill it dead. If it so much as starts twitching she will be like no thanks. Ive gave her a rat one time I thought was dead, I mean I really wacked this thing, I even squeezed it really hard to see if id get a reaction....nothing. I gave it to her, a few min. later it started moving again. Toughest rat ive ever seen.
