  • [Feeding-General] Shouldn't she have grown a little more by now??

My '09 female hypo, born in june or july, is not weighing in at very much in a bit over a month. Here are the notes i've made:

    11.30.09 ate 7g mouse
    12.02.09 shed weighed 95g
    12.09.09 ate 10g mouse
12.21.09 ate 10g mouse left to go out of town on 12.22.09 till 01.03.10
    01.04.10 ate 14g mouse

weighed her today and she only weighed 100g!!!

What do you guys think?? Should I feed her every 7 days??

I feed all the baby boas every 7 days. Sometimes it just takes awhile for baby boas to hit a growth spurt.

7 days would be fine. As long as she is eating appropriate sized meals and having nice slow growth she is doing fine.

ok, thanks Chris and Jeff. I'll up her feeding to every 7 days. I just thought BCI's had a slower digestion than pythons. thanks again.

she seems fine...you say your feeding her a "Mouse"...What size?
if its a hopper try feeding her a Fuzzy Rat (more Protein less fat)
Feed her a mouse once a month for the additional Vitamins...
According to the nutritional charts the mice contain more Vitamins than rats
but she needs the protein and easily digestible calcium from a Fuzzy rat(or whatever size is appropriate)..

If the size mouse you are feeding her equals the size of a rat pinkie then feed it to her every 4-5 days...

fuzzy rat every 6 to 7 days...Keep her temps and humidity up and she should be fine....

Remember temps are very important during this time of the year. Specially ambient temps(82-85 deg.), since your basking(or belly heat) is probably already taken care of...

according to your weights she grew 5oz. looks like growth to me. my female is slow also but all said here, just adhere to that and she'll be good.
