That sounds like a mite to me, i would soak the boa in luke warm water and clean everything in its cage and bleach its cage with a 10% bleach solution. Even then you will probably want to get provent-a-mite and spray down the entire cage, NOT THE SNAKE, and let the cage air out for about 20 mins before you can put the snake back into the cage.
Great ...thanks for info ...was waiting for replys b4 in ran out ...to buy the supplies needed(which i didnt know what i was looking for) So i'll assmue spraying everthings down correct? wood log...hidebox ect.. and let all air dry.
i would either bake it in the over for a few mins at 300 degrees, not the plastic of course, but the wood yes. Either that or soak it in a 10% bleach solution for 10 -15 mins then let it air dry
I again agree with Zack.. You can bake the wood items to kill the bugs.. Although I bake mine at 250 for 30 mins.. The paper stuff I throw out, the water dish gets scrubbed and soak with 10% bleach mix.. I change over to newspaper in case I wasn't using it before.. Spray the tank down with Provent-A-Mite, let air for atleast an hour, put the clean water dish back in, the hides back in after the cool, and any branches or vines I had.. Then the snake..
You moght have a had time trying to find the Provent a mite a any store. You can get it on line. I can't rember where though. Hopefully someone can help.
Another great product that I've had a lot of success w/ is Black Knight Roach spray. Its kind of expensive, but works like a dream. In addition, its safe to use on your animals if used properly. There's a great "how to" @ the ProExotics site (and you can purchase it from them as well). Good luck, mites are the pits!
Thanks for the welcome! Heard about this forum from Jeffs, LOL. Thought I'd check it out. I'm always up for chatting, learning new things, and helping out where I can!
