Hey guys I have had my boa now for almost 5 weeks. Actually 5 weeks on Monday. He was what I estimate about a month old when I got him. He has not defacated at all. He has eaten 6 times. A couple of weeks ago there was a bit of urate deposit, but thats it. Is it normal for a baby boa to go so long while feeding every 5 days? His enclosure is at about 90 on the hot side and 80 or so on the cool side with between 50-60% humidy. I also tried a warm bath and nothing. Also if it has any bearing on the situation he had mites when I got him, which took about two weeks for me to completely irradicate. So he may have been malnourished a bit. Thanks.

Re: No defication
That is a bit long in my experience, but the fact that he was malnourished may be why. You might want to have him checked for internal parasites, and if he's negative, just chalk it up to having a lot of room to fill up before he needs to poop.
What are you feeding him and what size?"It is not my responsibility to live up to other people's perceptions of who I am. I am only responsible for living up to the standards I set for myself, to be the person I want to be."

Re: No defication
If you're in a position to order a bag or two of frozen rats, I'd do that.
In the mean time, keep the hoppers coming."It is not my responsibility to live up to other people's perceptions of who I am. I am only responsible for living up to the standards I set for myself, to be the person I want to be."
