  • [Health-General] Sighing and mucus-y poop, not eating

Hi guys, new member here from Fort St John BC, Canada.

Ive had my RTB for just over 4 years and this is the first time I have had an issue

He hasn't ate for almost a month, just up and stopped and has had no issues prior. Lately he has started this 'sighing' sound while breathing, not so much wheezing or coughing but more along the lines of a very small 'release-valve', per say.

I have also just found this, this morning, which has prompted me to look further into it.

    See photo:

He seems interested in eating but no longer takes anything, he is still quite active as well.

The soonest appointments I can make locally take about a month but there is a larger city about 2 hours away if this is an emergency. Any ideas?

looks like a sperm deposit , going off food is typical of males for mating season for several weeks months. i bet he is looking for a girl! nose rubbing may start. T, very late in the season for it though i think. i may be very wrong , let us know what the vet says.

I'm not sure about the 'sighing' but that looks like sperm deposits to me as well. It's typical for adults to go off feed during breeding season. I remember when my first snake did it, it sure freaked me out!

Taking him to the vet isn't a bad idea, just for an overall checkup to make sure he doesn't have any respiratory issues.
