  • [Health-General] Size question.

Not sure if im in the right spot but here goes. I just a redtail. The previous owner said he is 1.5-2 years old. He( sanchez) is 30" long and 571 grams. They said they fed him every 7 days a rat slightly bigger than a adult mouse. He does appear healthy ( looks like a loaf of bread ) now i know this isnt fair but my hogg island at that weight was only 5 months old. Sanchez is a BCI. Could they be right?

    Re: Size question.

I think the 1.5-2 year old is a little small. But some people just feed him slower (which is a good thing BTW). And if he looks healthy, then there is really nothing to worry about.

That might be a tad small, but that's OK. It doesn't sound to me like he's underweight or anything. And he is a he. They stay smaller than the females.

My male hypo jungle boa isn't even a year yet and was 30 1/2 inch about a month ago. Some grow faster and some grow slower. Honestly I was wondering if he was going to grow at all because he was the same size for months then started to shoot up lol
