Hearing on: H.R. 2811, a bill to amend title 18, United States Code, to include constrictor snakes of the species Python genera as an injurious animal
I am being accused of trashing and spreading lies about U.S.A.R.K. well I have said since the beginning that U.S.A.R.K. does a great job getting numbers and emails to the reptile community and for that I thank them.
But they do not have any pull at all as far as these laws and bills go.
Andrew Wyatt has been saying that H.R. 2811 was amended to limit it to just the Burmese Python and the Rock Python, and that he was trying to have it amended further by having the captive bread sale and trade being able to continue.
Even in his most resent email he stated that it was limited to the Burmese Python and Rock Python and the promise to allow captive bread trade to continue had not been kept.
Well friends that is not the case look at the link I have provided there have been no changes in the bill.
I am not saying anything about U.S.A.R.K. that is not true.
As well I have complimented them on getting the numbers, emails and fax numbers to us, but for them to pay out $20,000 a month( from Andrew Wyatt's own mouth at the Atlanta show.) to accomplish nothing but making some python keepers think there was no danger of them loosing their snakes and causing them to feel warm and fuzzy that my friends is not right. Those people who thought they where safe may not have put the word out like they would have had they known that their hobby to was in danger, they may not have sent letters and made phone calls because well it was just the Burms and Rocks on the chopping block.
Well folks we have till noon on Thursday to get the whole reptile hobby to blow these phones and faxes up, Look at the link no python is safe from the Burmese to the Ball Python.... Retics to Bloods we are all on the block and if they win this one you know the next stop is Boas so please if you have done nothing till now you may want to suck it up and get busy. It all comes to a head Thursday at high noon so make your choice is it important enough to do something about or not?
I know Wyatt is scheduled to attend but let me tell you something,
Don't count on someone else to do this for you that way if we make it through this we can all pat ourselves on the back and if we fail we can blame ourselves too.
I spent another $40.00 on faxes today and as I said before I have no problem doing that because this fight is one I will stick out to the end.
Thanks for reading I hope after this post I am still welcome here, I know there are a lot of big U.S.A.R.K. fans here and that is why I never stated my opinion on them on this forum. But now I just don't care who is mad at me I am doing what I can to get the word out and hope I am welcome here after this post.

As originally written HR2811 would add the entire genus python to the Injurious Wildlife List of the Lacey Act. This would effectively end the Import, Export and Interstate Transport of any animals listed. In July USARK was successful in narrowing the scope of the bill by removing most pythons with an amendment offered by Congressman Tom Rooney. The amendment would limit the bill to the Burmese Python and the African Python. In addition committee staff agreed in principle to further amend the bill to allow the captive bred trade in these two snakes to continue. To date this promise has not been kept and the HR2811 has not been amended to allow for captive bred trade.
