TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - A deep chill is setting in over the eastern part of the U.S., and it's expected to stick around all week. The National Weather Service says an Arctic high pressure system will keep temperatures 15 to 20 degrees below normal.
"Everybody's going to be shivering from this one, all the way down to Florida," said meteorologist Sam Herron of the National Weather Service. "This is a widespread pattern across the whole eastern United States. It's the whole eastern half of the country (that) is in the icebox."
Florida is warning residents, visitors and growers that temperatures will be near or below freezing in the Sunshine State. Forecasters say temperatures could dip into the low 20s in the north.
