  • Dangerous Exotic Pets: Snakes

I'll bet that title got your attention, it certainly got mine.

As I signed on to RTB this evening there was an ad for The Humane Society of the United States, posted on the left of the screen labeled "Search Links/Sponsored Links". The advertisement was requesting donations. I clicked on to their website to donate, and typed in "snake" in their search menu. This is in part, what I found.

    "Dangerous Exotic Pets: Snakes

Pythons, boa constrictors, anacondas, and other large snakes should not be kept as pets

Large constrictor snakes like pythons, boa constrictors, and anacondas are powerful wild animals capable of killing an adult human—and they are commonly and legally kept as "pets" throughout the United States.

Allowing private possession of these dangerous reptiles threatens public safety, environmental health, and the welfare of the animals themselves.

Dangerous incidents involving constrictor snakes skyrocket"

There is more...Here is the link,

Dangerous Exotic Pets: Snakes : The Humane Society of the United States

I will spare you all the statistics, and the utter hypocrisy of the thought that an organization that exists solely due to the mass neglect of dogs and cats accuses us all of mass neglect of constrictors, and calls for a ban.

First and foremost, my donation will be made elsewhere. Before I go on a letter writing campaign, and encourage you all to do the same, I am hoping to get some answers to these questions.

What exactly is a sponsored link, and is RTB sponsored by The Humane Society of the United States? ...or is this just a computer generated ad?

The (national) Humane Society of the United States is one of the biggest frauds around, IMO. I'm so sick of their commercials, knowing how they really operate.

I'll be writing them a nice, long letter.

The Humane Society is buying into mass hysteria in order to get sympathetic donorship? Why doesn't that surprise me?

The sponsored ads you see are generated from cookies on your computer. It's the same way an ad will show up on Facebook right after you do some online shopping. Trust me when I tell you that there is absolutely zero chance that this forum would ever take money from HSUS, nor would we help spew their BS propaganda.

Currently, the sponsored ad I see is from Lids, because I bought myself a new hat recently.
