I'll bet that title got your attention, it certainly got mine.
As I signed on to RTB this evening there was an ad for The Humane Society of the United States, posted on the left of the screen labeled "Search Links/Sponsored Links". The advertisement was requesting donations. I clicked on to their website to donate, and typed in "snake" in their search menu. This is in part, what I found.
"Dangerous Exotic Pets: Snakes
Pythons, boa constrictors, anacondas, and other large snakes should not be kept as pets
Large constrictor snakes like pythons, boa constrictors, and anacondas are powerful wild animals capable of killing an adult human—and they are commonly and legally kept as "pets" throughout the United States.
Allowing private possession of these dangerous reptiles threatens public safety, environmental health, and the welfare of the animals themselves.
Dangerous incidents involving constrictor snakes skyrocket"
There is more...Here is the link,
Dangerous Exotic Pets: Snakes : The Humane Society of the United States
I will spare you all the statistics, and the utter hypocrisy of the thought that an organization that exists solely due to the mass neglect of dogs and cats accuses us all of mass neglect of constrictors, and calls for a ban.
First and foremost, my donation will be made elsewhere. Before I go on a letter writing campaign, and encourage you all to do the same, I am hoping to get some answers to these questions.
What exactly is a sponsored link, and is RTB sponsored by The Humane Society of the United States? ...or is this just a computer generated ad?
