  • 421D or Rhino Raxx

Ok so I'm waiting for tax return time for all of this but I want to get some opinions ....I was planning on getting a boaphile 421D in mid Feb ....then I was looking at the 41qt rhino raxx. I have one boa now but I'm still looking health and happiness wise what do you prefer I want what's best for the snake ....my ball pythons are in a rack and I've noticed they are nicer since the transfer from tank to tub .... if they are the same as far as husbandry wise then I would go with the rack because that keeps my options open for when I go to the shower ill have 3 empty racks . What would you do

Both are from the boaphile, both serve their own needs, but both are excellent products. You should look at the size of your boa and how many boas you have. If you have a bunch of young boas the rack system will work for now, adventually they wont be so small anymore and will need tanks. I would invest in the tanks right off the bat since you only have one boa. It will give it plenty of room to grow and you wont have to pocket out more money when she gets bigger to get her a tank anyhow. There are plans on here how to make racks out of melamine, I would go that route if you still want a rack system. I say get the 421D, all of mine are in boaphiles and they are great, you'll love it.

I don't think you could go wrong either way. Personally I like to look at my animals without pulling out a drawer and enjoy watching them at night explore their 421's. Health wise, Jeff has done a great job making these cages easy to maintain and overall easy to keep the health up in your snakes. So personally i would go for a 421 or a couple of them

I have 2, 41 Quart Ball Room Raxx and a 422D. I like both of them. They each hold humidity equally well and are easy to clean.

I went with a 422D to use for a breeding cage for my 7 foot female. Either way you decide to go, boaphiles in general are the best cages out there IMO, and you will be happy with what ever purchase you make.

Also, once you buy a thermostat to run one style of cage, you can hook multiple cages of the same style from that single or double thermostat.
