  • Boaphile Caging Setup Question

    Hello All,

I am planning on redoing my current snake room and have noticed a few new products on the boaphile site. I called and spoke with Jeff today ... but forgot one of the questions I had planned to ask him. For some quick backstory: I will be trading out my current AP cages to go with the boaphile 421d cages. In total, I'll probably have 5 421's to hold my current snakes.

I am currently planning on getting one of the new "FaTT StaXX" to start stacking the 421d's on but was curious to know if any of the RhinoRaxx would be a better option. Looking at the site, I am having trouble finding the dimensions of a RhinoRaxx that may fit this need. Does anyone know if there is a RhinoRaxx that would match up to the 421d length and width? Also, with RhinoRaxx, is there an option to have each row of heated separately?

Any assistance with this would be greatly appreciated.

The FaTT StaXX are made to go under 421/422D cages. The Rhino Racks are made as stand alone rack systems

That is a question that you'd have to ask Jeff. I know the rack that I have, the heat tape is woven throughout the levels.

      Thanks Tim,

After more thought and review I think sticking with the FaTT StaXX will be the best option for me starting out. I "should" be able to stack my current AP T-10 cages on top until I trade them out for the 421D cages, but will also be able to get the snakes I currently have in screen top aquariums into the the bottom racks. Being in Arizona it is hard to keep the humidity where I need it with the screen tops, so a new caging setup is needed regardless.

I'm curious as to why you are trading out AP cages for Boaphiles? I have neither atm as I use a Pro-Line cage but my next cages I planned to get for my sunglow BCI was going to an AP T-10 with a shelf and an AP T-8 for my pied BP. Just curious why you are switching.

I am also curious why you are switching out AP cages. After weeks of research on the topic of Boaphiles and AP's, I went with the AP's. Don't get me wrong, the weeks of researching was because both seemed to be amazing cages, AP's were just slightly above for what I was looking for.

I agree, after researching here as well, seems AP offers a lot for the money especially a shelf for only $30 vs $100.

I prefer the Boaphile because they come pre-assembled and professionally sealed.
