When building your own cage, wouldnt it be smarter to line the inside with formica or something like that instead of putting acrilic sealant on it? Wont the sealant wear out quicker from constant exposure to humid conditions?

Re:the interior
Hey Chambers,
I know some that have used laminates on the inside and it does work real well.. Just have to be careful, because the laminate glue for one is very toxic and heat under it can release some fumes that could harm your snake. Not to mention that constant heat will dry out and weaken the laminate glue. If you use 10 coats of something like Polyacrilic, it does hold up well to humidity and heat. It you can, once a year I try to reseal the floors, but so far I have not had any problems.. If you want a more expensive, but 100% permenant soulution, get the stuff that is used to cover bars. It is self leveling and can withstand tons of abuse and 100% water proof. I have been talking to one manufature of the stuff and they are talking with their chemist to find out how it will work for animals and if heat will release any fumes.. But so far, it looks like I may be using a new sealer on my cage floors..)
