Heat rope?

Has anyone ever used the heat rope available at Big Apple? http://www.bigappleherp.com/Pages/Product/119500.html

I'm building a 4x2x2 cage out of wood. I was thinking of routering a grove in the floor of the cage to install the rope in. Then covering it with a piece of 1/4" think expanded foam pvc. I'll be using a zoo med
500R temp contoller for it.

Hi Tattoo,

I have though about similar ideas. I haven't used that kind of heat roap, but did find out the heat cords people use to keep their pipes from freezing need air. I was gonna route out a squiggly area put the cord in and use wood fill over it.. I spoke with the manufacture of it and he said it could cause a fire.. So I changed plans.. Hope it works safe for you..
