  • Flex watt won't turn off!

So, I have 11" flex watt on the bottom of my AP cage hooked up to a herpstat 4. One of the flex watt strips works perfectly, but the other one just won't stop heating when plugged in, even when the herpstat cuts power to it. Has anyone seen anything like this? I know the tape can't be wired wrong, as I got it from AP cages pre-wired. Do they have a tendency to do this, or is my thermostat malfunctioning?

Sounds to me like a thermostat problem. Try plugging in the suspected flexwatt to the outlet of the working one and see what happens. The Herpstat 4 can control more then one heat source, which means you would need to set the temp you want to control separately.

I can't believe I didn't think of something that simple. Thanks!
