i have a 50 dollar zoo med repti temp 500R thermostat but it does not allow you to set an exact temp. its a low med high kinda thing im looking for a thermostat the you can actually set it to the desired temp. can u finds these for reptile cages????? and one that wont put too big of a dent in my check book ive spent so much now my hubby is B****ing hehehehehe any help or links would be great thanks a bunchies

Well I wish you had not spent that 50.00, because you could have spent 100.00 and purchased a real temperature control device with digital set points, that controls the exact temperature you need.

I purchased the dual control which is more expensive but has built in fault tolerance.

I have the 500R also, (I think I paid about $30 through Big Apple Herps :) and it has worked great keeping the temps constant. Granted, I can't set it for 90 degrees vs. 88, but it works fine for the money. It is controlling my CHE and UTH.

Boaphile's thermostat is a Ranco Electronic Thermostat control and is supposed to be a great unit! There are other places online, mostly beer and brewing supply stores, that have the Ranco Thermostat Control for around about the same pricing as Jeff. If you go with the units from ther brewery supply stores you will save a few bucks but you will have to wire outlets up to the controller your self.
