Re: Reptarium or standard glass tank???
Too tell you the truth I don't know what the hell a reptariam is but the best cage for a boa is a boaphile cage.... www.theboaphile.com
I have one and just about every body is trying to get one or just plain wants one...

Re: Reptarium or standard glass tank???
The ideal cage for a snake would be one that is made from plywood, melamine, or plastic like a homemade or boaphile cage. Glass aquariums (like a lot of us use) will work but require some creativity from the owner in keeping the humidity and temperature levels where they need to be. (See Doug's article on keeping snakes in a 40 critter tank http://www.redtailboas.com/cgi-bin/y...num=1038532033)
As far as the reptarium goes, they are made for lizards like chameleons and iguanas that need a lot of ventilation, if you wanted to get one for a "play area" for you snake that is easy to move and store then go for it. As permanent housing there is really no way to maintain an environment that would be fitting for a snake though.

As for the reptarium.. Like Stormyva said.. It is NOT really made for keeping a snake such as a boa in at all. The whole thing is vented...no humidity whatsoever would be able to be maintained due to such...[ your boa is going to need the humidity ]...and hard to keep a good temp gradient in them also. NOT to mention that if you go and use one of the plastic liners on the bottom that they sell for them... man those can get quite nasty in the scent department also in time ! YUCK! AND That's with regular cleanings too.
I'd go with the glass tank myself if given a choice between the two of these caging types. I don't actually run into the "can't keep the humidity up" thing that it seems most people have in connection with the glass tanks. ???
