  • Boaphile Plastics Condominium!

Well, my new Boaphiles arrived and they are awesome! I started to set them up, and the next thing I new... bahda boom, bahda bang....Boa Condo!!! This is my 422D. I have a large water bowl on the left (which is actually a small bird bath), a waterfall, a large artificial log in the center, and an upside down planter for a hide. It has the pre-installed flex watt heat tape, and the pre-installed flourescent light, which I tinted so it gives off a soft glow. On the right is an UTH. The surface temps are 81 degrees on the left side, and 89 on the right. The waterfall is hooked into the thermostat (from Jeff), along with the two heat sources, so it turns off and on keeping the humidity at a constant 70-75%. The nice thing is, if I want more humidity I just plug the waterfall directly into an outlet and it runs continuously upping the humidity to 80-85%, perfect for the shed cycle! In the future, all my Boaphiles will look like this one. Here are some pics, enjoy!

Looking great! Bet the snakes love the new home!
I may be missing something in the pics, but if the temps that you state in your post were taken from the thermoters in the pics they may be off a little bit. Those thermometers tend to be horribly inaccurate (found that out the hard way) and they ought to be about 1" above the substrate. But if you have thermometers about the substrate I apologize for saying anything.

        LOL Clay!
Hey Stormyva, those temps I quoted are actual surface temps...which are the temps at ground level, left and right. The gages on the back wall are for humidity and ambient temp only. My baby loves to explore the cage. She's in there but you can't see her even though she's 4'3" long! She's hiding under the substrate near the waterfall and plants on the left.

              Hey Tatdaddy,
My Boaphile 421D took 3 weeks, and my 422D took 4 weeks to arrive. Hope that helps.
