Hey guys, I'm getting acrylic to make sliding doors for my new enclosure, I'm wondering if they'll need wheels or not. Size is 29"x19" (1/4" thick) anyone know if they move ok without wheels?

Go to this Youtube video and it will show you how to do it, you dont need wheels for it to slide

short video on how I made my sliding doors for my ball python enclosure.

Never used the acrylic because it had too much flex for my liking, but they dont need wheels to slide. you just need a good track for it to sit in.

        Re: Sliding doors

When I re-purposed a cabinet & added sliding doors for a snake to occupy, I was using glass (heavier than acrylic) and found some narrow self-adhesive stuff (kinda like thick velvet) that I put in the tracks to smooth
the action of the doors. It worked well. You probably won't need to do that anyway, for acrylic...but just giving another idea besides 'wheels' -in case.
