    Re: Anyone using Proline cages?

I have 2 , both are 24x24x48 , and stacked. Took 5 weeks from time of order , arrived in flat boxes in perfect shape. took me about 30 min each to put them together , had to watch the videos. they clean up very well , hold humidity and heat very well . I added me own shelves and drilled a better hole for probes and such . the HDPE is good stuff, they will last many years .I have a 5.5 ft female hog island female and a 3 ft Hypo x nic cross and they are very happy boas. They bask under the RHP daily and have plenty of room . They are furniture quality for sure and the price is good. i haven't noticed any sagging , I use corrugated wrap for bedding.

      Thanks Tepkc007...

The Monster website shows people standing on top on one of their cages. Probably a good choice for a retic.

AP's are great, but with the wait time to get one, if I wanted an 8' cage from them I'd order it about a year before I thought I would need it.

The shipping on the 7 foot Monster cage was quoted as 300-400... Apparently they ship on a pallet, and can ship multiple cages for that price... But for one cage it's not worth the shipping cost.

Ouch! That will definitely take a bite out of the wallet. I bought mine used locally from someone upgrading his retics to Sentec enclosures.

Lead time is quite long on the AP cages. I ordered a quick ship item (T8, 4"x2"x1") that was supposed to ship in ten business days but it took more like 18days (which is a whole other week). It then takes four business days to actually ship. It may be pretty long for a large cage they have to build.

However, lead time is a factor for 90% of plastic caging that I have already looked into. Just order what you think would be best for you in the long run. Lead time sucks if you are impatient (THANK goodness mine is coming in on Wednesday) but at least you will be happy with the results. Ik AP uses 1/2" PVC and I knew I would need as much plastic as I could get since my room is in the 60's. Thats why I went with them.

If you are concerned with leaking, maybe look further into boaphiles if you don't think you could trust your own sealing job.
