Lead time is quite long on the AP cages. I ordered a quick ship item (T8, 4"x2"x1") that was supposed to ship in ten business days but it took more like 18days (which is a whole other week). It then takes four business days to actually ship. It may be pretty long for a large cage they have to build.

However, lead time is a factor for 90% of plastic caging that I have already looked into. Just order what you think would be best for you in the long run. Lead time sucks if you are impatient (THANK goodness mine is coming in on Wednesday) but at least you will be happy with the results. Ik AP uses 1/2" PVC and I knew I would need as much plastic as I could get since my room is in the 60's. Thats why I went with them.

If you are concerned with leaking, maybe look further into boaphiles if you don't think you could trust your own sealing job.

Ouch! That will definitely take a bite out of the wallet. I bought mine used locally from someone upgrading his retics to Sentec enclosures.

For a big retic i would go with a big AP cage

I have 2 , both are 24x24x48 , and stacked. Took 5 weeks from time of order , arrived in flat boxes in perfect shape. took me about 30 min each to put them together , had to watch the videos. they clean up very well , hold humidity and heat very well . I added me own shelves and drilled a better hole for probes and such . the HDPE is good stuff, they will last many years .I have a 5.5 ft female hog island female and a 3 ft Hypo x nic cross and they are very happy boas. They bask under the RHP daily and have plenty of room . They are furniture quality for sure and the price is good. i haven't noticed any sagging , I use corrugated wrap for bedding.

See I've heard bad reviews on monster cages but I've also heard bad reviews on all the other types as well lol

I've heard good things about monster cages but do not have one. Should my female retic ever need an 8 foot cage I think that's who I may go with.

There were two small yellow ponds in her cage this eve ... Thus my concern for leakage is more than warranted.

Thank you for all the input. I'm still considering the options.

    Thanks bcr_229... I hadn't thought about Monster. I did request a quote from them for a 7x2 1/2.

As another option, I have two 96"x30"x18" dividable Monster enclosures for reticulated pythons, and neither of them leak.

I have both AP and Boaphile enclosures and I love them both. With boaphile you do not have to assemble when it arrives like you do with AP. AP you have to assemble but they do give you the sealant to seal at the bottom when the enclosure comes. I have notice that AP actually maintains humidity better than the boaphile, plus the price is better with AP when compared to Boaphile (4ft cages). I resealed one of my AP cages this year and I have had it since 2011. In all, I prefer AP over Boaphile, I don't mind assembly. But I love my Boaphile also. As a matter of fact, I just order a 122D to add to extend my current Boaphile cage.

All I have are Boaphiles and they don't sag or leak. I can't address the other brands.

I have a 4x2 proline and it works great. But the snake that's in there is still just a juvenile.
