Is reptisafe really needed?

Zoomed sells these water cleaners that take out the chlorine in the water. Do we need this with boas?

I seem to recall reading a thread (I think on this forum) about the same thing once before.

I've always used tap or bottled water and my snakes have always been healthy. I, personally, wouldn't bother unless I suspected a problem with my local water supply. I've lived in places before where the water tasted (and looked) funny and in that case I used bottled water (for myself and my snakes).

I use Reptisafe for all my reps cause its cheap and if it really kills alot of the stuff in tap water like they say, than I guess its better for them. The smallest bottle of it cost like 3 dollers and it last a long long time.
