Lovebirds

Hiya everybody.

My wife is really wanting a lovebird and has been reading up on them. She's read that you shouldn't have scented candles, incense, potpouri, Glade Plug-ins, etc. around them. Is this so? We've had birds (not lovebirds, though) in the past & used all the above. And if it is true, should it not be used in the house at all, or just not in the room w/ the bird?

My parents have owned 2 love birds, and they burned candles and cleaned with windex around the bird and our first one lived tell the age of 14!! Second we had to give to family friends cause we moved. They are hardy birds from what I am experienced. But if you want a bird that sits on your finger, and is very tame, than a love bird isnt for you, they are just nice to look at.

Hmm, okay then. It's good to hear that they're hearty animals. As good as we both are w/ animals, birds are some that we just can't seem to keep. We've lost a pair of parakeets & finches in the past.

Just get them the right bird food, and make sure they have water, they will do just fine.
