  • Oh where,Oh where can my Python be????

This morning as I get up to go to work,I look in my cage to see and empty log.Im thinking "Its alright,he's in the water dish"..As I soon find out,he is not in the water dish.HE ESCAPED! ???!!Now,Montey Python is a master at escaping from any enclosure. You can say that he is an escape artist. I look and look all morning for Montey.I even called in sick to work to find him.I usually look and find him in a corner in my closet, but in the closet corner,he was not.I completely turned my house over looking for him. Now,as I sit hopelessly on my couch, woundering where in the he!! he went,i gave up looking for the time being.I knew what I had to do.A SEARCH PARTY ;D As my 2 friends and I searched with flash lights around my house looking in every nook and cranny possible. We turned up nothing.I sent my friends home giving up hope.As I sit on my couch thinking "If I was a snake, where would I want to hide??"I feel a movement by my shoulder. As I look to my suprise,Montey was peeking his head up from in back of the couch thinking he all slie and slick....I eventually get him out from in back of the couch (stubborn python) My ordeal was over with and my baby back in his home..

You know you are a true herper if:

You have taken your couch apart to rescue your snake.

I actually had to remove the fabric from the back of a couch several years ago to remove a 4 footer that was way to quick, and now you see me, now you don't, was gone in a flash.

I always wondered how they made couches anyway. ;D

;DCouches arn't to complicating once you take one apart and put the stupid thing back together..The couch had a couch bed in it so its a heavy couch to lift. When I got him,he was rapped around a bar and his tail was around a coil.So it took me some time to get him out.Hes on punishment time right now.......

Just be glad that you found him. I had a baby Everglades Rat escape on me back on May 9th, and have not seen her since. We too, tore apart the house looking. I keep hoping that maybe I'll see her outside someday & be able to recapture her. Unfortunately, I'm afraid that she's liable to've been dinner for a kingsnake. --We have a lot of them around here.

Man.That sucks.I couldnt imagen having my python get lose and not be able to find him....I had a Yellow Rat Snake that got out of the cage once and boy was he fast.He had to be the fastest snake on the planet. One second you see him and the next he's all the way across room...Needless to say,the rat snake got out and I couldnt find him.I here he may be in mexico...

I had a ball python who used to get out all the time no matter what I did to keep him in. He would disappear a couple of days after feeding and then turn up (usually near the computer!) the day before feeding. I never did figure out how he was getting out!

                Hi,
Same problem just happened to me I checked on the Bp and he was'nt in his cage..He had pushed the screen top on the forty critter enough to escape but left the slide locks in place.. I always close the door to my herp room so I knew he was in here some where..
I finally found him under a book case it had a small 2"opening in the back and he was completely enclosed a perfect hide box with the carpet for a floor....
He's back in the cage, he better behave I just treated him for RI last month and I hope he didn't cool enough for a relaps..
He seems fine but he's hunting for another escape route..
My boa's dont' ever try to get out, I even forgot to slide the cage door shut on my guyana male while I was taking the female out for show and tell.. He was sitting in his hide peaking out at all that cool air coming in his cage..   ??? :P
