Yeah bites are never any fun, but they can happen.. it was funny, my wife was looking over my shoulder when I was looking at this pic, She said (your ear looked worse).. Refering to my close encounter with a grumpy iggy..LOL

Hey all,
I agree with what I said and most everyone said, most bites don't hurt as bad as you think they will, but handling any snake with the idea that it won't hurt may be asking for trouble.
A good example that didn't work out well for anyone was a 15 year old boy was tagged on the chin, and he jurked away giving him a nice painful tear.
One other one that I was involved in was some guy got tagged from a 4 foot boa, The boa tagged him on his eye lid and scratched his eye real bad, enough for hit to lose 1/2 his vision in that eye. He got mad when the snake bit him that he swung it across the room. It was giving to me the next day. Boa had a broken spin and was put down. Nobody won here..
Snakes are my favorite pet if you didn't know. i love them. But learn your snake, handle it right and enjoy it.. Just watch you face with a nippy snake..

Re:Tagged !!!
I haven't got tagged by my snake..My snake has never attempted to bite me or anyone..hes great at the vet, with kids, with other animals( ok pets..hes not to good with rats..lol) he's awesome .. He's not head shy at all..you could pet him all day...I was suprised when I brought him to the vet and the vet just pryed his jaws open to check his mouth and mitch just gave him a little look like take it easy Doc..and that was it..I love my Boa! ;D

Re:Tagged !!!
Hi,
The key word in your last post was pay attention to the mood, I can't tell you the number of times I sensed a boa was grumpy and just missed a gesture slap.. Thats what the good boa's do when they are grumpy..
I saw a post at a web page in germany and I always try and cover my eyes with glasses, this guy was feeding a rather large boa and she attached her teeth to his eye ball and tore the tissue covering the eye.. ouch
My most aggresive moments are retreving boa's near the end of the feeding cycle a day or two before feeding cage cleanning ,,, They must be hungry and are excited .
Post feeding they are lethargic.fat cats.... hehe doug
