RTB Classifieds

I'm curious how many here look at and use the classified's here at RTB. I like them a lot and have done well in the past listing animals here.

I did notice that there are a ton of really old ads. Maybe these can be cleaned up?

I look at them sometimes. I have sold a snake on it once awhile back. There is not a button I could find to delete the add though. That may be why there are alot of older posts.

I've noticed the older adds everytime I look them. It makes me curious whether those animals are still available or exactly what the case is ???

My thoughts are based off general stuff and both being a newcomer to this forum.

I have purchased some new snakes lately and cages and I definitly checked the classifieds here but too many are old and then the ones active there's little indication on if the person is trustworthy. I don't mean disrespect but I don't really know anyone here and only talked to a handful. I tend to like to buy from people with a good rep and that I feel confident in. I think the solution to that is a trader rating or something where people can leave feedbacks and rate the seller (and buyer); you know like eBay and other auction/sales type sites. Maybe I missed it when viewing ads, if so, I apologize.

Another thing is it seems too stretched out. There's a million subcats but no activity. I don't see why it's not simplified and expanded as needed. For example there's not much need [right now] for anything beyond a Snake / Cages (or Equipment) / Other sections. If the ads ever start to boom perhaps then break it down to Boa, Python, Colubrid, or whatever for categories.

That's all I can think of, but I've definitly looked a few times. I also like the idea of being able to sell something here if I want to down the road.

Hmmm... I agree!
I also did not know there was a classifieds section. I looked around for one but couldn't find it. I thought it would be at the bottom of the page like other forums display. It would be nice to get it going, because I'm sure a lot of people on here have great stuff and are trustworthy.

I posted a snake on the classifieds at about 70% of market value just to get rid of it. After 2 months I hadn't gotten a single PM, so I assume not a lot of people even look at the classifieds. When I post the same animal on Kingsnake it takes 2 days to get a hit. They need to be simplified and anything older than 90 days should be deleted.
