• Vacation Pictures!!!

My boyfriend and I just got back from a week long vacation in California. It was a pretty packed trip, we started in San Diego and went to ComicCon one day and the San Diego Zoo the next. Then we spent a few days in Yosemite before heading up to my Aunt and Uncle's ranch in Northern CA. It was a super fun trip, can't wait to move back to CA!

The first place we went at the zoo was the reptile house so here are those pictures first.

    Leucistic Cobra

    Asian Vine Snake

    Indian Rock Python

    Aruba Island Rattlesnake

    Neotropical Rattlesnake

    Ethiopian Mountain Viper

    Mang Mountain Pit Viper

Jerdon's Pit Viper (these guys were super cool)

    Santa Catalina Island Rattlesnake

    Blue Spotted Tree Monitor

Galapagos Tortoises (all of these are over 100 years old)

This is only about half of the reptiles they had but not all the pictures came out well depending on where they were hanging out in the cage. Here are some non reptile pics : )

These are just a fraction of the pictures I took, lol. The San Diego Zoo is amazing!

These are great pictures, what an awesome vacation!

I can only comment that the zoo you went to is a lot better than the zoo in my area. The animals in my zoo hide all the way in the back and you can't see them, it actually makes me feel bad for them. But in that zoo it looks like the animals are fed well and just lounging around.

Those snakes are super cool and don't even get me started on those horses! After horseback riding all my life I can only dream to own one..

Um, yeah. The San Diego Zoo is one of the best in the world.

Great pics! Glad you had a good time. You may have even driven through my small town on the way to Yosemite.

As Pandorasdad pointed out, San Diego Zoo is one of the best in the world. They have several major breeding projects around endangered species and have done some vital research over the last few decades. I've been to a lot of zoos and none of them compare to SDZ. They also have a whole other sister park called San Diego Safari that we didn't have time to see. Hopefully next time!

I love horseback riding and miss it terribly. It's too expensive in Boston to have a horse so I've been horseless the last five years. That's the main reason I'm planning on moving back to CA, I'll take ranch life over city life any day.

It's definitely worth the trip! I lived in CA for 25 years and never went there, lol.

              Me too!

It looks like you had an awesome vacation, I'm super jealous! Yosemite is on my bucket list for sure and your aunt and uncle have some beautiful horses. I miss mine every day. It's no fun living on a farm without them.

What a fabulous vacation, great photos, thank you for sharing!

As PD said, SD Zoo is one of the best in the world. I've been donating to them for over 30 years and get their all color very nice publication, ZOONOOZ every month.
Of course when I visit SD, the Zoo is tops on my list. And you must succumb to the fact that you are not going to see the whole place in one day.
