Hi everyone! My name is Mira and I am the proud mom of a 29 inch Columbian Red Tail named Christine. Christine was a Christmas present from my boyfriend, who is afraid of snakes. Lol...that's love right there! He jokes he brought me home Nessie...initially told she was a male ball python. When she got here her cage was filthy and I was told she eats 3 live mice every two weeks. She was aggressive. She now has a clean cage and switched to a small f/t rat every 7-10 days. This has definitely helped with aggression. Next step is switching her to a seperate container to eat. As of yet I have not had the nerve to handle her. We are getting a hook and leather gloves this weekend as she is very bitey.
I am not new to snake/herp care. I have had pythons, boas, iguanas, scorpions, tarantulas, various geckos, etc. But it has been a long time. One of my fondest memories as a little kid was my stepdad letting me play with his 10 foot RTB. Supervised of course. Anyhow, I look forward to getting to know everyone!
