Greetings fellow oddballs! My name is Colin and I'm new to the group here and just thought I'd say hi. I have a Redtail named Kitty whom I've had for about 7 years. I don't know many people who share the interest so I thought I'd join up and share some info and possibly get some tips and answer some questions regarding Kitty. Kitty has a new enclosure and I was also hoping to possibly get some feedback on whether it's good to go or could use some alterations. Any input is welcome. Hope to get to know some of you!
As a youngster I was the odd kid that had a room full of aquariums. Turtles, garter snakes, tree frogs, newts, toads, etc. Kitty was given to me by an acquaintence who moved to Germany and couldn't keep his snake, and knowing I used to be a critter-lover he asked me if I wanted to buy it for $50..."and if not you can have it for $25" (he sucks at negotiating). I've had her ever since. She (i think) is my first constrictor and I was lucky that she is EXTREMELY mellow and well tempered, doesn't bite or nip and is very durable. Since I've gotten her some new digs I thought I'd go ahead and find out a little more about her; and so I figured I'd join up in a group like this and talk to people more experienced and knowledgeable than I.
