His guesstimate is about right. It all depends on how often and how much he is fed. My '08 male is pushing 6.5 ft now and I don't foresee him growing another another two feet in his lifetime

I wonder how big the average red tail gets. Mine is a regular. I've heard about the huge ones but my snake guy said most will top out at 6 to 7 feet.
