    Hello,
My name is Shane friends call me Sparky. I have owned snakes in the past but never a boa. I bought my first red tailed boa today about an hour or so ago and so far so good. Is there anything I should watch out for now he/she is in a new habitat?

Welcome to the forum. I too just got my first boa about a month ago and I'm sure you will ask yourself the same question I did....why did I wait so long to get one of these exquisite creatures!!! I love my other snakes, but these are so much fun!!! As far as bringing it to a new habitat just do as you probably already know....watch temps, humidity and the toughest part...no handling or feeding for at least a week while he/she settles in a bit!
Good luck with that last part! I failed that test!!

        Welcome to RTB!

As for your new boa - give it a couple of weeks to acclimate to the new environment with only simple spot checking for cleanliness, water, humidity/temps, etc.

Try your best to leave your new boa alone for those couple of weeks, then you can offer a first meal with you then after another few days you can begin your handling sessions. Just remember that slow is key in the acclimation of a new boa.

Best of luck and don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions.
