I truly do love every minute of working with this guy.The pattern, color, and power, are awesome.seriously this little guy puts my five foot boas to shame he is strong. He's already chilling out anacondas get a bad reputation for no reason, as a lot of the species that aren't worked with often do.As with all snake species I've worked with it's all about how much time and effort you're willing to put into the animal.

I totally agree with you (that the species not often worked with get an un-deserved bad rep...same is true for rattlesnakes), and while I wouldn't personally work with an anaconda, I love that you are!

Just get too big for me... I don't mind working hots solo but not the big stuff...I'm no match, lol. With hots, it's not about strength but about planning, wisdom & focus.

I have heard many times that pound for pound Anacondas are so much stronger than boas and other snakes. If they stayed around 8 feet I would get one. I just know I could not care for something properly after it got above 10 feet or so.

Well you win haha, I won't work with hots.Prefer not to put my life in my hands like that.I really like Atheris, especially A. Hispida.Anacondas are definitely not for everyone. They're large, very powerful snakes. They are a joy to keep though.

We're not all the same, nor should we be....we each bring different skills to what we keep, and hopefully it's only after we've considered carefully what our limits might be. Trust me, I was never a reckless
adrenaline-junkie type....I only got into keeping rattlesnakes "accidentally" after so many locals needed help...someone on their side...an advocate, an interpreter.

You got some pics of this guy's enclosure? Does he have to have a huge pool of water? I know that in the jungle, they love to immerse themselves in the water and ambush their prey.

He's a baby so he's in a 34qt tub, no massive water dish causes more problems then good. They'll sit in it so long they'll get water blisters. Not to mention the plethora of problems that will occur cause they will defecate in the water and sit in it.As he gets bigger he'll work his way into an 8x4 cage. That's cool Noelle eventually once I'm old I'll probably get some hots, there is quite a few I'd like.Knowing your restraints is a good thing.
