I have an Emerald Tree Boa and 2 Jungle Carpet Pythons that havent shed for me in 4 months. What does this mean? ETB cage 89F 85% humidity....JCP 85F 50% humidity. THey just havent shed in forever and it bothers me.

Could be that they are just getting older.. That is my only guess...

raise the temp on the jcp to at least 60% i have a friend that breeds them and that is what he keeps it at all the time and 90 on the hot side and 85 on the cool side. as far as the shedding i will have to agree with red on this one.

        Re:Not shedding

Wow, I am 100% lost. I have no clue what would cause a room of snakes to stop shedding.. 4 months even for an adult is a real long time to not shed..

What I would do is go get a new humidity and temp guage and just test them out. Never know, weirder things then 2 guages dying at once. Worth a shot..

You may want to take a look at your feeding schedule and the age of the snakes. Are the snakes eating every 7-10 days on an appropriate sized prey item?

            Re:Not shedding

I feed the jungles 2 small mice each every week on saturday. They are relatively young pythons both about 3 feet long. The ETB is 3-4 feet long about 2-3yrs old. eats rat every 10 days. I just dont get it. Its the first time any thing like this has happend. I would think at first larger eclosure. But a 4'x2'x4'(LWH) is big for an ETB.

              Re:Not shedding

3' i would move them to rats at least weanlings. plus rats are more nutritous for the snake in general more meat on them than mice. Hard to say what size rat for sure without a pic of them anyway we can get a pic posted of the JCP's? would help alot on what size prey to feed them .

                Re:Not shedding

Depending on the type of JCP I would guess that a 3'er would be eating at least a small rat.

Don't sweat it, they'll shed when they need to.

Update: the male shed maybe 3 weeks ago and the female is in the middle of a shed now.
