Heres a pic of judis, my solomon island tree boa. Here is a little info on these snakes because most people are not familiar with them. Solomon island tree boas are a member of the candoia group or pacific boas. They are a moderately sized boa, males usually ranging between 3-4 feet while females can approach 6 feet, however 4-5 feet is much more common. They can come in a variety of colors ranging from red, brown, orange, and tan. They really become uncomfortable when cage temps reach over 88 degrees, they seem to prefer temps in the high 70's to low 80's. They are arboreal as the name suggests but will spend time on the cage floor. As far as humidity goes i keep the humidity at a constant 70% and mist a few times a week to raise the humidity to 85%. Most solomons tend to be tame however mine can be very moody and will not hesitate to strike if annoyed.

Re: my solomon island tree boa
stormyva,
the candoia group can be a pain to get started on mice as babies. most of the time they will only except frogs or lizards for there first couple of meals. luckily this tree boa will attack anything that moves so not only does he eat mice, he will take frozen thawed mice with no problem at all.
thanks guys for the replies. i think the coolest thing about his color is that he can change it drastically. sometimes he is a very light tan or almost a reddish tan, and his underbelly will turn to a dark orange color, it is pretty wild to watch.

Re:my solomon island tree boa
i am hoping to get some more pics of judis up sometime this week. he is in shed right now and when he is finished he really looks like a different snake. most of his body will be red and his underbelly will be a very light yellow. i also have the hamburg show coming up where i am hoping to find a female tree boa to mate with him. i will post some pics if i can find one, i am keeping my fingers crossed.
