Hey all,
Its sad but news with my rescue. I got a call 50 mins ago that there was a snake that met a car tire the wrong way just up the road and was still alive. So off I went to see if there was any thing I could do. The back end and the very edge of its mouth was crushed. Poor fellow couldn't even retract his toung.. I felt bad, but there was reall nothing i could do except make him as comfy as possible till the end. In the pic he was still alive and it was amazing that he was calm in my hands. He died about 10 mins ago. I boxed him and will bury him in the woods before night fall here..
The real shame of course is he doed, but even more is that these Eastern Milks are not very common up this way anymore. People mistake the markings for one of the venomous snakes we have up here and kill it. Last time I seen one of these local was a couple of years ago and it was a real big one, pushing 4 foot and fat as can be..
Just figured I would share..
