8)Well just alittle while ago i got a call and the people nextdoor said there kid was shooting rocks with a sling shot at a snake, also that the dog was messing with it to.. so they caught it and brought it over to me.. Sure enough a wild eastern milk snake about 1 1/2ft. nice color and was alittle scratched up and also gona be checking its mouth.. Its really scared and i have fixed it up in a nice house with a hide, it apears to be in the blue.. so im gona care for it for awhile and see if i can get it to eat and then in about a week turn it lose out by the swamp where theres no people and no cars... Just a typical day at home,, mom to the rescue again...hehehe!!!! ;D

thats cool hopefully it will eat but i doubt it will since its wild and went threw all that.but maybe you can get it to.

Don't feed it please. Let it shed and set it free. What ever you do don't feed it unless you're keeping it please. Let it keep its hunger and fear of people. I know it's hard because they are so beautiful and you just want to help the little one, but if you feed it than you need to keep it. But I want to thank you for the rescue of that one. Easterns are a big favorite of mine. s8.gif

8)Hey T.C. , Well see how she does over the next few days i dont know if shes got internal damage fron the dog messin with it or not. Shes all comfy in her hide house and her cage is away from all people traffic in the house.. Il be checking her over again in the morn.. Shes a nice one, she would be worth keepin.. But my heart says make sure shes ok and turn her lose where she should be safe.. I dont have any pics of her but this one pic i found is her to a T...

Hi Barracuda_41,

Eastern Milk snake, you must be closer to my area in NY then I assumed. Some reason I always thought you were from the mid-west. No clue why. I just released a good size black snake. This guy tried to cross a busy road and had its tail sqwished into the pavement. It looked worse then it was when I found him. He ended up losing 2 inches of his tail, but recoved fine. I wanted to get some pics of him, but he didn't like that idea.. Hid 99% of the time I had him, and he didn't care too much for being held. Trust me a 4 foot black snake has a real big mouth.. Sorry I am rambling. Just nice to see there are others that will take in a hurt snake and recover and release..

8)Well i checked on this girl and she seems to be doing ok, still not to sure about her mouth. :-/ the scratches on her will heal and shed out but if theres any damage to her insides or her mouth i dont know how shes gona end up.. She came out of her hide house and wanderd around and is now hanging at the end with the heat pad under it.. when i get near the cage the only thing she does is rattles her tail, to funny to see her try to mimic a rattle snake, she dont get in strike pose or anything.. Il keep her for few more days to make sure all is well and after she sheds she will go out to the swamp...

Actually with all of their morph the Corns are the wanna-bees! It really doesn't matter because they are all Lampropeltinae whether they are Corns, Kings, Milks, or Pits. I would still like to see the markings on an Eastern Milk caught in that part of the country.

8) T.C. She looks just like the pic i posted right to a T. same color same markings.. She has gottin a good long drink of water a few times and shes been out laying around in the open now , no longer in the hide and she seems to be doing ok so few more days and she will be out enjoying her new swamp home away from people..

8)Thanks T.C., just befour it got dark last night we took her out to the swamp and turned her loose.. Lets hope shes happy out there and shes really far away from all roads and people.. Theres tons mice and prey out there for her..... Lets hope she produces many more like her... ;D

We can only hope! I would love to repopulate certain areas that have dwindled numbers, but there may be a reason for the shift in there regions.
