No problem! After reading a little about this snake, it made me very curious. I would love to see one first hand!! They are extremely beautiful snakes, and with that ability to be able to "glide", that is truly a distinguishing and unique trait! b15.gif
The venom that they carry is basically harmless unless you are allergic to bees than you don't want to be tagged by this one. They rarely bite though. I have a few friends that went on an expedition in Thailand and came across one. It was very calm, but did tag one of them. He got the runs and vomitted, but nothing serious. I wouldn't mind owning one.
Do you have to convulse for it to be bad.... lol I would not want that... I am basicly dead if I get stung by a bee... Well I guess that is not a snake for me...
Nice lookin' though..

All the bee talk made me recall a funny story. I thought I would share this with you all, I'm sure you'll laugh. This happened to me when I was just a child, I think around 7. I was playing in our front yard getting ready to climb up our tree when I saw a bumble bee flying towards me. I jumped down and it flew right in front of me. I started running trying to get away, and the impossible happened. The bumble bee was actually flying away from me, but I didn't see it and ran INTO IT!! cwm1.gif You ready for the worst part? It ended up getting me right on my nipple!! cwm14.gif cwm21.gif Talk about your dumb luck!!
:-/Ouch, ouch, ouch on the nipple, oh man.. :P I remember when my youngest daughter was only 3 and she got stung so bad by Baldface hornets and we had to rush her to the hospital because her face swelled up like a basket ball and her eyes were swollen shut for days, i couldnt look at her without crying my brains out.. Now i think back and thats nothing compared to what shes going thru now.. :'( Very intresting story ya got there Jeff.. T.C. i wonder how there temperment is in captivity, and i also see they preffer lizards and frogs as prey.. :-/
They do prefer lizards and frogs, but my research shows that they readily take rodents if fed them from a young age. Just like the Hognose family especially the Easterns. They prefer frogs and small lizards, but will easily be converted to rodents. There is a guy on the west coast that sells these different exotic colubrids from Thailand and other countries from that region. Soon as I find his info I'll post it in case anyone has an iquiry for him.
Is this a snake you have, or are you just interested in? If you do get one you'll have to post some pics. I would imagine that it would require a cage a bit larger than the ordinary seeing as how they like to "glide" from tree to tree. I guess it wouldn't make a very good pet, but you never know. Maybe you can just use your newly available room instead of making it your new office!! JK! ;D
8) ;D What can i say i love things of beauty... ;D No seriously im thinkin of gettin one, Building a cage with enough room for it to get around in trees is another thing.. My new office is big but not that big...hehehehe!! Maybe in the near future i can get one... But i do want one thats already eatting rodents..
You'll have to keep me posted if you do get one, I would love to see the colors. I know they all vary greatly, so I would like to see what other colors are out there!!
Yeah let me know too. I'll have the info for you by tomorrow because I have another friend sending the email address of this guy who has these types of colubrids.
8)NP jeff il let ya know if i get one there color does vary greatly some a beautiful green and some more blackish, and T.C. thanks for the info your gettin me... Heres a variation, the Red Lined Paradise tree snake.. Looks like a juvie to me, but then again ya never know.. Hmmm that pic gives me ideas already for cage furnishings,, Palm trees. ;D maybe i better make a wall size cage. :-\
That's gonna be one big cage!! Would that be going in your office too? At least you'll have plenty of company while you're working/playing. Keep us posted!
