  • Fatty.

I just picked up this 2014 baby this past weekend (the weekend before Halloween). It was really nippy in the store, but is perfectly calm now that I have it home. It's unsexed, and I haven't wanted to mess with it enough to sex it. It's a CB P. brongersmai. I haven't had a blood python in years-- they're so chubby!

    So here's the pic.

Nice! Sure can't blame a snake for being nippy in a store...how scary that must be! I've had similar experiences with a few snakes that I got from stores over the years, so I know they pick up on how we treat
them & their surroundings much more than many ppl want to believe. Bloods are beautiful & one of the kinds I've never kept...keep us posted?

I always liked how the Bloods get so bulky and their collar and patterns. Nice addition. Thanks

Very nice! Hopefully the little guy or gal calms down for you after getting settled in : )

Awesome! I have one that is a rescue that was found 'running wild' by animal control and is really thin so it's exceptionally great to see a normal looking chubby one!

Nice addition, bloods are just stunning in their color and pattern. I love seeing them change through the years. Hopefully this one will continue to be a calm chill snake, most of my shorties haven't been too bad but one of my 2015 borneos is pretty jumpy and defensive, going to take a while to settle him down I think.

He/she is in the blue now, two small rats later. I'll post up some pics once the shed happens. I'll also get a good look at the bottom of that stubby tail to see if I can discern the gender, so it doesn't have to be an it anymore . If all else fails I'll have to get a paper towel tube and get out my probes. I haven't probed a snake in years.

And how's yours doing? Wt. gain is slow-going for a while, I know...but "TLC" pays off handsomely.

Well, he is getting there. I was feeding him too small prey purposely not to overwhelm his digestive system since he was ultra thin but he's graduated up to large rats now and I'm barely seeing a lump after feeding. He's drinking normally and has only defecated a small amount once since I got him (but I was informed by a breeder that their metabolisms are notoriously slow). I fully expect to come home to a massive mess one of these days. He's still quite jumpy, I'm trying to get him used to being touched gradually but we are moving along painfully slow. Once he has digested his meal, he comes out from under his substrate and seems very curious, watching all the goings on and boy is he gorgeous! Thanks for asking about him.

                            Re: Fatty.

I handled what I'm going to call her (judging from the almost invisible anal spurs) tonight for the first time since I brought her home. Not a hiss, not a defensive S curve. Nothing. She cruised from hand to hand, and hung out on my lap, with no issues at all. I think she'll do just fine.

Hopefully I'll get some good pics soon.

Nice, sounds like a great calm girl. My male borneo I mentioned before nailed me again this week, had to soak him as he had a bad shed. Got me right on the knuckle too! Super jumpy. But have a female from the same breeder, same age, different clutch who is a perfect doll with no problems. Can't wait to see some more pics of your new addition.
