  • Burmese python (BIG) enclosure

Hey folks, just wanted to show the final enclosure for my Burmese python. I like them large and natural, so that's what it is It's as good as finished, maybe need some tweeks here and there, but here it is :

On the left is a waterpool with waterfall (which i can 'disconnect' and use the tube for pumping out the water).

On the right, behind that palm and log, there is a shelf, which is a hotspot.

The grass might not survive, but at least i wanted to try it out

I won't put my burmese in there for at least another week (or two) so the grass and plants can reroot a bit more.

But in the mean time, i didn't want it to just be empty, so i took Princess out of her tub and have her investigate the enclosure. She can stay there till Tijgertje rehouses and the she gets an enclosure of her own (hate to see her in a tub...).

    Greetz.

PS : Got pictures of the build too. Can post them if wanted, but right now, i don't feel like uploading all of them...

Awesome! I'd love to see the build, when you get around to uploading those pictures. I'd also love to see in context with the rest of the room. What are the dimensions?

No idea if this works, but here's a link to the album of the build on FB : https://www.facebook.com/david.vanbe...9724417&type=3 (it should be viewable for all).

That cage is awesome. I'm curious to see how the grass and plants hold up. I've never tried living plants with snakes before but I did it all the time with my lizards.

I can't seem to access the photos from that link so hopefully one day you will post them. I absolutely LOVE the naturalistic enclosures and if I only had one or two snakes, I would so try that but cleaning that many wouldn't leave me time for anything else. Thank you so much for posting them and keep us posted please.

That's one very happy-looking snake in there now! I hate seeing snakes in plastic tubs...I know it's "convenient" but it's just not a 'life'. I LOVE your new cage & bet your burm will too! Thanks for showing us!
