    Re: Burmese python (BIG) enclosure

I placed 2 thermostats, 1 for the cold side and one for the warm side. Both will have a RHP connected to them.

Under them will be the slider for the glass doors :

And I placed a 'little' branch in there for a moment, just for fun

In this picture, Tijgertje just shed and that alway goes together with leaving a big dump for me, so i had to clean his enclosure a bit. While doing that, he could investigate his new home, he will be housing soon

Because this waterpart is not removable, i made it so that i can disconnect the hose for the waterfall and connect another one to pump out the water into a bucket or something.

First, i lead the hose outside and put a connector on it, then a hose with another connector (male/female) will go back inside an to the waterfall. Let's show this in pictures

pump with hose (which goes to the outside) :

L-part going through the viv wall :

The outside hose, with the separate hose for pumping water out connected to it :

The other L-part, for the hose going to the waterfall :

Made the shelf for the hotspot a bit more naturalistic too. The flagstones are glued in and sealed. Then i threw a whole lot of dirt on it to cover up the sealant in between the stones. After drying, I took away the dirt, so only that in the sealant stayed on.

Then it was time to build the rock wall around the waterpart.

Same technique with dirt in sealant. This part is a bit less than 1/4th of the total floorspace of the enclosure and it can hold something like 60 litres of water

A long week after putting in the grass and plants, it all still looks great and it seems to me like the grass and moss are even growing

That's really cool. Thanks for posting the build pictures! Someday I'll get back into keeping lizards and this cage would be great for a lot of them. I built a similar cage on a smaller level for my Chinese Water Dragons. Although mine didn't look nearly as nice because carpentry isn't one of my skills, lol.

Now THAT'S what I call dedication & creativity! Even your snake is impressed! Thanks for showing us the process...that is some awesome housing, and I hope more keepers are inspired
                      to do likewise.

Btw, someone asked me on FB how i would keep the grass under control (if it would flourish), so i asked my GF to take this picture

That is outstanding work. It's great to see such a large natural enclosure. He's gonna love it!
