              Hi Barracuda_41,

That retic is super looking. I love their look, not so crazy about the super size they get. Maybe it because most retic's I come across are during rescues and every one is big and nasty as hell. I always hear stories about these sweet looking snakes turning nasty and then I hear its acting like a typical retic, typical rock, and such. I hope that your retic turns into a puppy forever, just be careful OK..

Great luck with him, he really is pretty..

                Re: My New Tiger Retic...

                8) ;D"Seth" is home and im very pleased with him.. he has a really nice temperment and he should stay that way since i will be handling him alot over the yrs.. Its just typical for all retics to think everything is food as they are endless pits..If you use a snake hook or something else to just move there head outa the way when ya go to get them outa there cage and let them know your not lunch theres no prob afterwards with handling.. just dont let them be close to your face.. Once all retics hit a certain size its always best to have more than one person around while handling so that if a problem should arise you have help there.. I keep a scented shirt of mine in his cage also so he knows its me. Retics temperment depends on the individual, how there handled and raised and also what the parents was like temper wise. Mines from Baldago bloodlines which is one of the best out there.. Il always make sure Seth has been fed well and then a day or so later handle him so hes not so hungry.. ;D I think that if you handle alot as a baby and work with this snake as much as possible they tend to have a nice temperment but like i said they all have that real strong feeding response, i think the ones everyone ends up seeing in rescue are ones that people dont understand how to work with and handle such a large snake let alone owners dont understand the way of the retic.. 8)

                  8) Oh by the way Steve, Rock pythons have the retic beat as far as nastiness goes, they are by far more awful when it comes to temperment....

                    Re: My New Tiger Retic...

Hey Cuda, looks like another fine addition to the Ranch!! I am not much of a python lover, but I must say that your new retic is very attractive. I am just so used to seeing the typical ball python. I guess that's why I love RTB's so much!!! s23.gif Cato will be joining the Ranch next week. I'm excited for him to be going to such a great place and in the hands of someone that cares so much!! Thanks again! He was great last night, he was on my shoulders all night as I fed and played with all my other animals! Bad news with the pictures, my computer won't read the CD they got burned to, so my friend is going to do it the old fashioned way and put them on 3.5" disks for me. I'm trying to get them at lunch today, but it all depends on how much time he has. Anyway, great looking snake, I'm sure he'll be a handful, but they always are!!
