  • Living Gems Teaser #6: Litter 2015-A

Teaser six of six for our just-delivered Almandine-Scarface 2015 litter, 26 strong.

    I’m watching you.

Baby #15 is more worried about this strange hand thing and its five fingers of doom than righting itself.

Thank you, as always, for reading.

Haha. Too cute! One of the ghosts from my litter is like that. She never strikes but she's very watchful and if I take her out of the tub and put her down she'll stay in whatever weird position she lands in for a good 30 seconds while she watches me. It's been almost six months and she's still not convinced that I'm not going to eat her, lol.

For some reason, snakes love to be in the most weirdest positions

They can be such characters. I have one baby that hides from live mouse fuzzies -- one size down from normal food at this age -- on top of its water bowl. (Not a fan of live food, but this baby will not take frozen/thawed.)

Yea I know what you mean. I go thru the same thing with my 1yr old BRB , I've had him since birth and he was never interested in frozen thawed. So I do live, and always down size the food as well but I give him 2 or 3 that equal to the size meal that he should be eating. Cause bigger or normal size food he seems be get afraid and run and hide. So smaller food helps a lot, just give more then one. I hate to say it but petco has nice size feeder mice. My BRB is on small rat/weaned so 3 feeder mice equal the size of a small rat and 2 feeder mice equal the size of a weaned rat. So try it, it works from me...

I agree, and that was how I got this snake to eat at all. Mouse hoppers were too scary, but a mouse fuzzie did the trick...once. The problem here is that this is a baby. The only thing smaller than what I'm already offering would be a mouse pinkie. However, if it comes to that, so be it.... Fingers crossed, and continued best of luck with yours!
