Given that the snake was turned over to the Department of Conservation (Wildlife), I would say there is a pretty good chance that the snake was released back to a more remote location.
Glad things turned out better than they could have.

My friend that I shared this with also wondered if they really told the truth about releasing the snake after...but the reason I believe they did is that around here you generally see them cheerfully saying they killed it with
no repercussions whatsoever....most people don't think twice about that. So I'm hopeful that folks are learning a "new normal"...it's long overdue. Now if people could do the same with each other too??? (sigh!)Leave a comment:

Most snake-bite stories end up with the hapless snake being killed...this one has a much happier ending! (hooray!)

By the way, you're NOT encouraged to capture the snake that bit you...many people sustain more bites that way, the medical staff has enough to do already, and at least in this country,
the treatment is pretty standard for any bites with venom. (capturing the snake after a bite is very 'old-school'!)
