I keep mine in a medium Critter cage with moist peatmoss substrate, a tolite paper or paper towel tube and a dish of Cricket quencher cubes or gutload I usually only have one or two die out of every 4 dozen I get

8)For me i try to raise as many of my own crix as i can, i use a crix box for alot of crix with there own egg laying dish and seperate food dishes and then at the other end there climbing and resting spot of egg cartons. Once a week i empty there egg laying dish into jars for the babies to hatch in and as they grow i switch to larger size container, i use chicken laying mash and crushed dry dog food, plus crushed cereal, fruits veggies and for something to drink i use cut potatoes wedges and orange slices. The babies grow very fast..

OK, now whats the trick to keep them from stinking a cage up.. Have to say 2 dz crix in a critter tank smell worse then a over crowded under clean mouse tank.. ewwww...

Just to add to the thread.. I keep my crix in a ex-large critter tank. I give them a chunk apple, potato and carrot every other day. The crix stay alive for a real long time for me.. I wish the lizzys I have would eat crix..
