I came across a "True Zebra T" yesterday, a very good looking T. It made me consider buying one. Any input on this species, or any recommendations on another? Thanks.

8)Jeff, Costa Rican zebras are nice Ts to have in a collection but they can be agressive and fast,, Some are more mellow than others. There are a few diffrent kinds of species that are listed as zebra tarantulas.. The best zebra T would be a Pink Zebra Beauty.. Pretty well much easy to handle and not so agressive. But all T's go thru what i call T PMS.. they have there good days and bad days.. What are you looking for in a T??? color, handability, or just a nice T that you can care for and have as a pet??????? Heres a cool place you can check out , it has pics and stuff, Johns prices are high so if ya see something you like in his gallery you can always order it from somewhere else..http://www.e-spiderworld.com/
Pic is courtesy E-spiderworld.. A. Seemanni - Costa Rican Zebra, black phase.. some can be a dark brown to..

8)Hey Steve, il tell ya no matter what even if there some are alittle skittish they are very handable and i havent seen one yet that wasnt, or mean in anyway.. They dont flick hairs and they dont bite. My big female that i use to have was the sweetest T i had at the time.. she was very easy to just reach in and pick up and also would sit on my lap without taking off.. But remember babies are gona want to move around and explore everything even if the do it at a fast pace... Red or Bry , have you guys had any probs handling yours???? Theres alot of care sheets out there that will tell you some Ts are fast-flighty.. And then theres care sheets that give missleading info to... :-/

                      Re: Hey Barracuda

I was interested in the Zebra mainly for the coloration/pattern. I'm willing to work with the T if it is ornery to try and get it more manageable. My fiance said that is one thing that no matter what I try she will not go touch, go near, or even look at. Spiders are her biggest fear and they make her scream like there is no tomorrow!! She said that if I get one it has to stay out of her sight, which means that it has to be isolated from everything else I have if I still want her to help me care for all our animals. Oh well, you gotta do what you gotta do. I think I'm still going to get a Zebra T!!

8)Hey Jeff, Ts are one spider that alot of people have been able to get over there fear with as not only are they big but once people realize that they are not killer dangerous and that most can be handled and also how intresting they are seems to ease there minds and help them overcome that fear.. Hope your Zebra works out, just go slow when handling and make sure it dont drop as alot of Ts die due to the fall.. Make sure ya try to get a nice female.. Does the one you saw have dark color??

It was kind of dark, but it sold the very next day, so I would have to order one if I decided on getting it.
