That was cool I just handled him... and it was perty darn funny... as long as I was still he was then if I moved he would move... It was like red light green light...

And when it is in molt do I leave it alone and not feed it like a snake....??

;D Aahhh Red ,, my, my, im so happy you finaly held a T.. ;D s9.gif It sounds like you have a ok time, first time out..LOL!!!Im really glad things are going well.. As for when the T molts most will stop eatting for a week to several weeks befour molting.. and because your T is a baby you should be able to see the butt get real dark in color, depending on how dark black the baby is now.. So if your T stops eatting for more than say 5 days to week then chances are its going into premolt.. seeing how its small i would say it would molt within 1 to 2 weeks after it goes into premolt.. Ive seen um molt with in few days after going into premolt but that was mainly baby T's.. The T will slow down alittle and find a place to hide or close off its hide house. Dont freak out if you find your T on its back with legs close to its body, as this is how they molt, upside down.. Do not handle or touch a molting T.. Do not handle your T for atleast a week after, a T needs to harden up afterwards. anyways do not offer food to a molting T or for the first 4 days after a molt as there fangs need to harden as well.. thanx... He has been trying to dig under all the things in the cage.... I am worried that the stuff will colapes on him... So I have been putting the stuff on the bottom of the cage with no peat moss under it...

My T has started digging under his hide also. It doesn't seem wide enough for one end of the flower pot to give way and collapse on him. It's kind of hard to put the flower pot on the ground since there's 3 inches of substrate. Should I let him continue, or close it up and start a burrow for him elsewhere? He seems pretty content to sit under the flower pot and wait for food.

8)Alot of Ts will dig new houses and sooner or later use there hide house some Ts never use a hide house and preffer there own made burrow.. i would let your T dig away and make its self as comfortable as it wants.. I got few Ts that will bulldoze there houses just after i clean them as if to say, Hey lady this is the way i preffer my home.. LOL!!! Try this, take the small flower pot and use the end that has the small hole try to carefully chip away the hole so its alittle bigger and put the pot agains the cage side with the big open end against the cage wall and cover the whole pot so as just the small end is out of the bedding, pack that down and the T might enjoy the little hole to get in its new house.. Ok now see how i have the small end of the pot in this pic is facing out and you can see i have chipped away the tiny hole to make it alittle bigger, now the big open end i put up against the cage wall and then coverd the whole pot with bedding and pilled it up against the sides, and patted it down and misted it, i left just the opening clear so the T felt more at home and he moved some of the bedding off the pot.. This curly hair likes to bulldoze her cage.. hehehe!!

I have one of those logs they sell for fish tanks in his cage... It is made out of ceramic... I put it on the bottom because he had just left like three or for lil' support beams under the thing... a lil' bump and it would have came down... I don't want him smashed... when I clean his cage i will put the stuff in and then the peat.... i think this will work better for me...
