Hey Cuda, I have a question about the care of my new baby. from what you said, Height is more important then floor space, but this site http://www.arachnopets.com/tarantula...pusumbarac.htm says different. Can you give me some more info on the care of my new baby.

    8) Evil everyone houses there usumbaras diffrently, Arachnopets just gives you basic set up and housing.. Personaly i would go with a taller house that way you can set up the bark against the side and she will make her home webb around and under that. You can put a fake plant in there also with her cork bark a small water dish and the peatmoss mix on the bottom. It dont really matter what cage ya use as shes gona incase it with webb after awhile. And she likes climbing to. Has she done any webbing since i gave her to you?? Most the T sites i gave to you befour or in other threads should have care sheets on them.. She should also be kept at a good 78 to 80 temp, but ive had no prob keeping them at room temp of 75 to 78. I should have gave you my chaco so Lily would have had a nice T to work with.. ;D

Yeah actually, she has the entire underside to the cork bark all webbed up and she has started working her way around the rest of the jar. Though a cricket has found out that the safest place is UNDER the web and not anywhere else around it!!!! LOL!! Don't worry about not giving her the Chaco, she was rather nervous about holding her, espcially with her age and how active she was that day. I'll get her something that she can handle regularly that won't bite her. OK, so room temp is OK then for her. Just from how she is in the jar, I would have to agree with you about making it a tall, 5.5 gallon. She really likes to be in her little tunnel. I'm going to get one soon. Just have to wait for a little more cash flow.

8)NP evil, she (wouldnt) have bittin her, she was just active from all the moving around and bumps we hit with the truck, i know running over that deer jared her a good one.. but T's also have a fear of falling from what i have learned over the yrs even though people say they dont think T's are that smart and all, i know they feel as if there gona fall when being held.. Shes a nice old gentle T though and i trust her alot.. Thats cool to here your new girl is doing well and making her webb house , give her more time and she will have the whole thing in webbing.. funny how the crix always try to hide or hang on the top of the cork bark thinking ha ha she cant get me here... ;D ;D ;D

No, they've learned not to hide on top of the cork bark, they hide under her web house!!! A little hide and seak anyone? ;D 8) Yeah, I can't wait to get her a bit larger home and give her some room to move around, she is a pretty little thing. Oh yeah, we named her Kindling Sequoia, what do ya think? Lily has to give everything a middle name.

OH, she's given it to me already. When I was pissing around trying to get one of the dead crickets and another bug out of the cage that started hissing. It was one I caught outside, because it was rather large. But when it starte hissing, I got it out of there and put it back outside. But I did hit her leg and she arched right up!!! Wouldn't come out of her cave, but she did rear up!!

Lily wanted me to be sure I corrected her name. It's actually Kendall Sequoia. She yelled at me when I told her that I put the wrong name down. Hey, when you have this many children, you're lucky to remember your own name.

                    Re:Usumbara baboon

No, she ain't got it all webbed up yet. Still only the underside of the cork bark. But that web is getting thicker every day. I don't think she really likes to come out very often. I reach in the jar last nite to get the water dish out so that I could clean it and she didn't really even notice that I was in there. But I did get to hear her snatch up a cricket last nite. It didn't even have a chance from what I heard. Yeah, we really like the little girl. Thanks again for her.

;DThats cool shes feeling right at home now, she likes to keep a tunnel webb house, sometimes she will take that right down into the bedding to.. then she lays in wait in that webb house for her prey.. i think that is a cool webb.. and yup thats where she spends almost all her time, when she molts she will push the old skin out the end of the webb tunnel...
