New Beardie

I got my first bearded dragon a couple of weeks ago. He eats like a pig and is very alert. My question is, he is always in his water dish, is this normal? ??? He even sleeps in there!! The temps in his cage are fine, he shed right after I got him. What causes this??

Congrat.. Post some pics of your baby..

Assuming the setup is correct. and your beardie doesn't have mites, don't worry about it.. Some lizzy's love to soak. It helps with their hydration..

I really qwouldn't worry about it. One of My savannahs..sleeps in the water bowl. I agree with Steve its great for there hydration and some enjoy the water more then others.

Be careful on that because i had a beardie that started soaking a whole lot two days before it died and the temps were great for it also again it was a hatchling if i buy another one i know i will get one that is a juvenile at least.lol

again do not worry that is just my expierience and my savs sleep in there water bowls as well.

I woudnt worry, but Beardies usually dont soak very much. I have owned quite a few, and never had any soak very often. Check your temps, make sure they arent to hot, and make sure he is drinking.
